Amanda Righetti to star as Lara Croft

Soon to be former star of the hit series The Mentalist, Amanda Righetti is certainly my first choice as a potential new face of British adventurer Lara Croft.

Righetti has proven her acting chops both with her gun and her humour throughout the successful show. Now it is time to take it to the next level.

Robotech: The Macross Saga

Since childhood, I have been a great fan of Robotech and have recently acquired a copy of The Macross Saga. I am now even more convinced of the potential commercial success of an all out Big Screen version of the series, The Macross Saga in particular. I have been following the talk of late with much interest, but feel strongly (if the rumours are true) that the film makers are making some grave errors.

Here is my impression of how things should work:

Cast:
Rick Hunter, played by Andrew Garfield
Captain Henry J. Gloval, played by Antonio Banderas
Roy Fokker, played by Chris Pine
Linn Minmei, played by
Lisa Hayes, played by Kristen Stewart
Claudia Grant, played by Zoe Saldana
Commander Breetai, played by Rodrigo Santoro

For a lot of people, Robotech is Sacred Ground, So, it would be wise for Hollywood to treat it as such. All this talk about updating designs... bleh! Leave the designs as they are. Perhaps a little more detail than the old anime would allow, but the overall design must not change.

Production Team:

Director, Gavin Hood
Producer, Irvin Kershner
Writers, Gavin Hood and Orson Scott Card
VFX, ILM or Comen VFX
Soundtrack, Michael Giacchino

If you have any strong feelings towards this project, or have any ideas on how it should be brought to the Silver Screen, you are welcome to comment on this post.
